Central Florida: Rainy Day Activities Around Orlando

Don’t let the cold weather, rain or even scorching heat keep you from experiencing Central Florida. There are plenty of activities that are both fun and exciting to keep you entertained when the weather has driven you indoors.

Orlando Science Museum: Visit Orlando Science Museum for hands on exhibits and entertaining science facts. There are hundreds of exhibits, labs, programs and even a planetarium. Check out the exhibit, GUITAR: The instrument that Rocked the World to learn more about the history and evolution of this popular instrument. Or there’s Our Planet, Our Universe if you’d rather discover the secrets of the universe. But no matter your interests, the Orlando Science Museum has something for everyone.

Disney Quest: Located at Downtown Disney, Disney Quest is five floors of virtual and 3D interactive games. If video games and virtual experiences are your thing then Disney Quest is a can’t miss outing.

World of Orchids: The World of Orchids, located in Kissimmee, is a working greenhouse that spans three-fourths of an acre. The attraction itself covers nearly 10 acres. Thousands of orchids, along with streams and other plants, make up this impressive horticulture display. There is also a nature walk, waterfalls, exotic birds and even a gift shop.

Titanic The Experience: If you are a fan of Titanic, then this exhibition is for you. It’s the largest re-creation of the Titanic ship in the world. Walk through the full-scale re-creations that include the Grand Staircase and many other recognizable rooms. You can even stroll across the deck in the cool air coming off the Atlantic while you gaze at the stars. Actors help add to the experience by portraying well-known characters on the shop including Captain Smith and Molly Brown.

Indoor Skydiving: If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, why not try indoor skydiving? Indoor skydiving uses a wind tunnel to push air up a vertical column. This wind tunnel then propels you into the air allowing the skydiver to fly. The experience is safe and exhilarating and can be done by people of all ages and skills.
